What we do with your details

The short version: we use what you type into a booking form to answer it and to run the booking. We do not sell it, and we do not send marketing.

This applies to book.litstudios.ie, the booking and kit hire pages. Lit Studios, 65a Moyle Rd, Dublin Industrial Estate, D11 FC94, is the data controller. Ask us anything about this at info@litstudios.ie or 085 145 1081.

  1. What we collect

Only what the form asks for: your name, email address, phone number, your company if you give one, and any notes you add. Alongside it we keep the booking itself — the studio, the dates and times, the kit, and the price quoted.

If a booking is paid we record how it was paid and a reference. We never see or hold your card details. Payment is taken on a card terminal or by bank transfer, outside this website.

When you tick to agree the kit hire agreement, we record which version you agreed to and when. We do not record your IP address against it.

  2. Why we can use it

To answer your request and run the booking you asked for. That is the whole purpose. In data protection terms it is necessary for a contract with you, or for the steps leading up to one, so we are not asking for your consent and you will not find a tick box for it: without a name and a way to reply, there is no way to answer a booking request.

Two smaller things: our forms carry a hidden trap that catches automated spam, and we record failed attempts to sign in to the studio's own admin pages. Both exist to keep the system working and secure.

  3. Who else sees it

Nobody buys it and nobody is sent it for marketing. It reaches two companies because the system runs on their services:

DreamHost hosts this website, the booking database and the email. Your request and the emails about it sit on their servers.

Apple iCloud holds the studio's calendar. When a booking is confirmed it is written into that calendar, and the entry carries your name, your company if you gave one, and for a kit hire your email address as well, so the studio can see who is in.

If you email us or call us, that conversation is held in the studio's mailbox and phone in the normal way.

  4. How long we keep it

A booking that was paid for is kept for six years after the end of the tax year it falls in, because Irish tax law requires records of a business transaction to be kept that long.

A request that never became a booking — declined, cancelled, or simply never answered — is kept for two years, so we can look back if you get in touch about it, and then deleted.

  5. What you can ask us to do

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to us using it, or ask for it in a portable form. Email info@litstudios.ie and we will come back to you within one month.

Deletion has one limit worth being straight about: where we are required to keep a record of a paid booking for tax, we cannot delete that part until the six years are up. We can still remove anything not covered by that.

  6. If you are not happy

Tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963 — dataprotection.ie, 01 765 0100.

  7. This site and your browser

There are no advertising or analytics cookies on this site and nothing here tracks you across other websites.

If you have booked before, the form may fill your details back in. That is stored by your own browser, on your own device, and is never sent to us — press not you? on the form to clear it. Signing in to the studio's admin pages sets one cookie that keeps that session open; it is not used for anything else.
